Village Theatre Guild to hold auditions for 'A Doll's House, Part 2'

Village Theatre Guild will hold auditions for "A Doll's House, Part 2" by Lucas Hnath on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 22-23, at the theater located at the corner of Park Blvd. and Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn.

You need attend only one of these two days. Callbacks by invitation, if necessary, will occur at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the same location. No audition appointments are required.

At the end of Henrik Ibsen's classic and controversial play, "A Doll's House," Nora walks out on her husband and young children in search of the freedom and independence denied her in marriage. In this entertaining and thought-provoking sequel, 15 years have elapsed when Nora returns home. Each character is compelled to take sides regarding the merits of the institution of marriage.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides and more information are available on the Village Theatre Guild website at villagetheatreguild.com/productions/auditions.

Understudies may also be cast. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required.

The production will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Jan. 12 to Feb. 3. Please be prepared to list all conflicts on the audition form that will be available at auditions. There is no pay.
