Wheaton's Gary UMC to host Aug. 23 blood drive

For every pint of blood donated, up to three lives can be saved. Every day, Versiti Blood Center of Illinois needs more than 540 blood products to meet hospital demand.

To help meet the need in the community, Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is holding a Versiti blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Register to give blood via garychurch.org/events/2023/08/23/blood-drive.

Walk-ins are also welcome. Save the date for another blood drive at Gary Church on Nov. 29 from 2-6 p.m.

The church at 224 N. Main St. offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship in the sanctuary, complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.

At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend." A blended traditional/modern worship experience at 11 a.m. Sundays will begin on Aug. 27.

With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
