EQuality Downers Grove hosts LGBTQ+ Pride events in Downers Grove for third year

EQuality Downers Grove is sponsoring its third year of Pride celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and its allies this month.

The community is invited to celebrate with these events around town.

During the month of June, stroll through downtown Downers Grove and see all the amazing Pride windows painted by community members, professional artists and Downers Grove youth.

On Sunday, June 11, join EQuality Downers Grove and First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove for the family-friendly celebration Pride In the Park 'N Lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Fishel Park, 1036 Grove St., and the First United Methodist Church lot, 1032 Maple Ave.

Enjoy storytelling by OUTSpoken storytellers on the Fishel Park stage at 11:30 a.m.

Be sure to visit both sides of Grove Street and try out the "Drag Gnome Scavenger Hunt"; tie dye, rock painting and games; a Rainbow science project; nail and face painting; clothing exchange; chalking in the parking lot; and a food truck.

There also will be a Pet Pride costume contest. Dress your pet for Pride and have your photo taken with your pet.

Stop by the community organization booths, including the Downers Grove Public Library, Ellie Mental Health, Good Samaritan Hospital, DuPage County Health Department, Youth Outlook, West Suburban Humane Society, EQuality Downers Grove and more.
