Local vocal coach Mary LeGere to guest on It's Showtime with Rikki Lee
On Friday, March 24, 2023, renowned vocal instructor and performer Mary LeGere will guest on It's Showtime with Rikki - a radio program and podcast about the entertainment industry that airs out of the Chicago area.
Host Rikki Lee Travolta will introduce LeGere's many talents to listeners in an informative half hour interview.
LeGere's students have included many Broadway performers, including the Broadway Kids. In Chicago, her students have appeared at Goodman Theatre, Drury Lane, Marriott Lincolnshire, Paramount Theatre, Theater at the Center, and Porchlight Music Theatre.
"Mary LeGere is an incredible wealth of knowledge and talent," praises Travolta of his guest. "She knows more about vocal technique than most professionals in the industry and she has the ability to translate that knowledge to her students."
LeGere personalizes her instruction to each individual student. She has expertise in a wide variety of areas including teaching dancers to sing; preparing high school students, college students, and young professionals for vocal competitions; preparing college-bound singers for the entrance audition process; and ensuring proper vocal health for actors and singers.
"I try to learn something from every guest," explains Travolta. "With this episode there is no trying to learn, it just happens. You can just soak up the knowledge listening to Mary."
As a performer, LeGere has appeared professionally in musical theater and opera throughout the Midwest, along the East Coast, and in Europe. She is a member of Actor's Equity, SAG/AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
