Lavelle Law Releases Podcast Series on Alternative Approaches to Divorce

To bring attention to ways couples can alleviate some of the stress caused by divorce proceedings, the attorneys at Lavelle Law created a podcast series on alternative approaches to divorce, including collaborative divorce and mediation. These methods are meant to help families take a less contentious approach to divorce in favor of more harmonious discussions that result in advantageous outcomes for all.

The podcast series features Lavelle Law divorce attorneys Patti Levinson and Annette Corrigan, as well as Amy Wilhelmi, a licensed marriage and family therapist, divorce mediator, and founder of Balance Wellness Collective.

The series focuses on ways to cooperatively get through a divorce with less conflict and includes segments on defining the alternate approaches, parenting decisions, and the division of property. All episodes are available in both video and audio-only formats at www.lavellelaw.com/podcasts, as well as on YouTube and Blog Talk Radio.

"The podcast series begins with an introduction to alternative paths to the traditional divorce process, which can be incredibly difficult for everyone involved," said participating attorney Patti Levinson. "Our goal is to encourage people to consider collaborative divorce, mediation, and other approaches that will ultimately result in the best outcomes for both parties and their families."

Parts two and three of the series focus on parenting during and after a divorce - including parenting time and decision-making practices that better protect children from the trauma of divorce - and the peaceful division of property and assets.

Though the podcast series on divorce alternatives is new, Lavelle Law has been creating content about the law for more than a decade. The firm's "Chicago's Legal Latte" series has been regularly releasing episodes since 2009.

"We believe it's our duty to educate the community on legal matters," said Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "We regularly release podcasts, videos, and articles, and host in-person events to ensure individuals and businesses understand their rights and are aware of the resources we offer. This series will shed a light on more peaceful routes to separation, minimizing the stress for those going through the process."
