Home of the Sparrow in partnership with Women@Rust-Oleum collaborated to create a symbol of hope that will inspire women daily with a mural that was painted on the shelter wall in the main living area to remind women they can overcome obstacles and create a new beginning.

Home of the Sparrow is grateful for the support of this group and recognizes Women@Rust-Oleum and local mural artist Stacy Lazzara for designing and painting a beautiful "Mural of Hope," that also blends with Home of the Sparrow's mission which is: To provide hope, opportunity and support that empowers women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

What started out as an idea became reality when the Women@Rust-Oleum and Lazzara created a design that would make a positive impact for the women and children at Home of the Sparrow's shelter.

Women@Rust-Oleum is a group within Rust-Oleum created to give female employees the tools and support they need to grow their careers.

The mural is symbol of community and serves as a reminder to current and future shelter residents that their dreams can come true and that they can overcome any obstacles that may stand in their way; There is a brighter future ahead of them and they have the power to build the life that they see for themselves and their children.

Lazzara is an experienced mural and chalk artist whom uses her art and creative talents to share positive stories with the world. Her work can be seen in various local businesses, homes, and communities. To view more of Stacy Lazzara's work, visit Little Miss Murals at www.littlemissmurals.com.

The mural will be there for many years to come, and will be seen by the women and children who come to the shelter in need of hope and a new beginning.
