Wheaton's Gary United Methodist Church offers class on Bible interpretation

Author Michael Graves will lead an adult Sunday school class based on his book, "How Scripture Interprets Scripture" at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton, starting March 6.

The class, "What Biblical Writers Can Teach Us About Reading the Bible" will examine how to interpret the Bible in today's complex world, based on ancient contexts. Special topics include the balance between community and individual responsibility, the Bible's view of insiders and outsiders, and the scripture's teaching on the afterlife.

The class will meet weekly at 9:50 a.m. Sundays, March 6 through April 10, except March 27.
