Learn how to combat disinformation at school board meetings Feb. 8

School board meetings are increasingly adversarial, with board members and educators harassed and threatened. Boards make local decisions that impact the education and the future of our children, the vitality of our communities, and our budgets as taxpayers.

Since school boards provide local governance, why are the same things happening at meetings throughout the suburbs?

Joyce Slavik and Jim McGrath from Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action will provide perspective and recommend how we can support our local school board members and schools.

"Combating Disinformation at Local School Board Meetings" will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, on Zoom.

This webinar is a free community service co-sponsored by the following American Association of University Women affiliates: AAUW Naperville Area, AAUW St. Charles-Batavia-Geneva, AAUW Downers Grove Area, AAUW Lombard Area, AAUW Northwest Suburban, AAUW Wheaton-Glen-Ellyn.

This event is free and open to the public but to attend you must register online at naperville-il.aauw.net.
