Naperville Marines to host flag-raising for 246th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps

At 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, the Naperville Marines, a group of Marine Corps veterans, will host a flag raising at the Naperville Riverwalk flagpoles to commentate the 246th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps. This year, they are honored to also raise the official flag of the Medal of Honor along with the National Ensign and the Marine Corps Colors.

The Medal of Honor Flag is on loan from the National Headquarters of the American Legion facilitated by Department of Illinois Commander Wayne Fischer who also serves as executive officer for the Naperville Marines.

The community is invited to attend the ceremonies.
