Pumpkin Palooza returns to DuPage Children's Museum Oct. 30
Families are encouraged to come in costume and celebrate the colorful fall season during Pumpkin Palooza from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St. in Naperville.
This family-favorite is full of fun, not frightening, festivities in the museum's parking lot as well as inside the building.
Outside, guests will have the opportunity to mix and mash gooey slime from pumpkin guts, build catapults to launch pumpkins and pine cones through the air as they explore the fun of physics, or watch some STEAM experiments conducted by museum educators.
From 10 a.m. to noon, make your own clay skull!
Local artist Norma Rios-Sierra will work with young artists to explore this malleable medium (while supplies last). Rios-Sierra received her Bachelor of Art History degree from Columbia College Chicago in 2009. She was first introduced to stained glass art while working as a translator at a stained glass factory in Mexico. Her work consists mostly of stained glass mosaics featuring bold images inspired by iconic Mexican imagery, textiles and embroidery.

Practice pattern making with acorns, design your own "Franken-toy" and wearable art in The Studio, and rake and play in leaves in "AWEsome Air." Vote for your favorite pumpkin and try your hand at Pumpkin Bucket Toss with BrickKicker Inspection Services. Shake your "BOO-ty" to family-friendly tunes from Bach to Rock-Naperville!
According to Chris Berg, DuPage Children's Museum's public programs manager, "Pumpkin Palooza is a treat for the whole family. This event engages visitors in creative, not-so-scary experiences that explore S.T.E.A.M. concepts through hands-on play."

Pumpkin Palooza is free for museum members and included with paid general admission. Preregistered, timed-entry admission tickets are required. Admission is $15 or $14 for seniors age 59 or older. It's free for members and kids under age 1. Sign up at dupagechildrens.org/pumpkin-palooza.
