North Suburban YMCA to Host Trivia Night Under the Stars

On Friday June 25th the North Suburban YMCA will hold a Trivia Night outdoors (weather permitting) from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Teams of 6-10 people are invited to get a team together to join in the fun competition to become the trivia champions. The championship team will receive a prize along with bragging honors.

All proceeds from the Trivia Night Under the Stars Event will be part of the Y's Community Strong Fundraising efforts to fortify the future of the Y and build a stronger community. Ticket packages are available online now and include a private table, beer, wine, soda, and snacks. The price ranges from $240-$400 for a team of 6, 8 or 10 people. To register go to www.nsymca.org.

The community can also support the North Suburban YMCA that night by purchasing raffle tickets for $25 for one entry or $50 for three entries. Raffle prizes include wine baskets, local retail and restaurant gift cards, and theme baskets.

Child sitting services will be available during the event for an additional charge and include either a movie or dance party. In the case of inclement weather, the Trivia Night event will be held indoors in the Y's gym.

"The Y has the best events, and their trivia nights are definitely one of my favorites," said Northbrook resident Liz Chmiel. "They also make it easy on parents too by offering an event for our kids at the same time. We were able to enjoy a night out while our kids were in the gym having their own fun. The Y always finds creative ways of bringing people together and our family loves supporting them!"

Looking ahead, on Thursday, July 22, North Suburban YMCA will host The Community Strong Golf Outing at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, sponsored by Northwestern Medicine. The outing includes a "beat the pro" contest, a catered lunch donated by the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, prizes from local retailers like Target and Best Buy, and concludes with a celebratory Patio Party sponsored by Allstate with food, drinks, music, and awards. Additional Sponsors of the event along with Northwestern Medicine and Allstate include Norwood Builders, Allstate-Jon Tunnell, Tito's Handmade Vodka, IBJI, WLS-FM, Greengard Engineers, Vedder Price P.C., Bank Financial, Palocity, Reebie Movers, Visographics, Hill & Stone Insurance, State Farm and many more.

In addition to the golf outing fundraiser, the Y will end the summer with an assortment of Community Strong events scheduled for August 22-August 28. The NSYMCA Community Strong Fundraising week will feature a live, online event on August 22 followed by a week-long silent auction, Y impact stories, and conclude with the Community Strong celebratory "Dinner under the Stars" on Aug. 28. The dinner which will be held under tents in a twinkling, garden setting on the Y campus, will include a casino, music, a live auction, dinner, and the presentation of the Ken and Alta Thiel Award for Social Responsibility and Leadership. The award, named in honor of the North Suburban Y's founders Ken and Alta Thiel, will be awarded to a community supporter.
