Christ Church Oak Brook and Butterfield invites the public to join its efforts to help meet food needs for local families by donating to its Easter Food Drive.

The church, located at 501 Oak Brook Road in Oak Brook, has a donation truck in the parking lot near its main entrance (Door 17) for drop-off donations through Sunday, March 28, to collect items for the Food Pantry Ministry. Items can be placed within the rear door of the truck.

After Sunday, needed items can be dropped off at the Christ Church Butterfield campus at 2S361 Glen Park Road in Lombard on Monday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 31 between 9 a.m. and noon.

"This pandemic has pushed so many hardworking families to the brink of poverty," said Peter Celauro, Director of Missional Living. "Food insecurity is still affecting people right here in our neighborhood, and it hurts your heart to know there are hungry children in our community. That's why this Food Drive is so important, we have an opportunity to provide our neighbors with vital necessities like food, toiletries and prayer. It's how we, the Church, are called to respond to a world in need. The world experiences God's provision and grace through our generosity. When neighbors help neighbors, it gives people hope."

Needs include items such as toilet paper, jelly, peanut butter, bags of beans and Hamburger Helper. For a full list and additional details on how to get involved, visit ChristChurch.us/Drive.

The public is also invited to the Christ Church Palm Sunday services on March 28 and to engage with its Holy Week experience "Journey to the Cross," available now. It will provide a moving experience through an interactive narrative of the final days of Jesus Christ on earth before and after His crucifixion via video and podcast. Attendees will be immersed in relevant Scripture, song and reflection.

Founded in 1965, Christ Church is a multisite, nondenominational church in the Chicago suburbs with more than 6,000 members. Christ Church features a variety of inspiring worship options including classic, classic communion and contemporary services. All people are offered the opportunity to build life-changing relationships with God and one another with a rich range of spiritual growth resources, and a selection of service ministries aimed at creating positive change in the world. Weekend services are held at the Oak Brook and Butterfield locations, as well as via livestream at ChristChurch.us/online.
