Honor veterans with Huntley wreath-laying ceremony Dec. 19
At noon on Saturday, Dec. 19, you can honor our local heroes with Wreaths Across America.
From Maine to California, in more than 2,000 cemeteries, thousands of wreaths will be placed at headstones of veterans to celebrate our nation's gratitude, all on the same day.
One hundred and seventy-four fresh natural wreaths from the state of Maine will be delivered and placed with dignity at the headstones of veterans at the Huntley Cemetery, just prior to a memorial ceremony at noon, hosted by the Village of Huntley and Fox River Valley Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Join the American Legion, scouts, and dignitaries as they honor, remember, and teach the value of freedom at the cemetery off Dean Street.
You are invited to participate in the ceremony so that no veteran is forgotten with Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization. Each wreath is $15 or three for $30.

The Huntley Cemetery, established in 1861, is the resting place of the village's founding father, Thomas Stillwell Huntley (1807-1894) as well as many other early village leaders. Many servicemen and women who served the nation are also buried at sites across the cemetery.
