Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital ranked among Illinois' “Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital as one of the top hospitals in the country in its 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings. The hospital, located in Winfield, Ill., is ranked No. 8 in Chicago Metro and No. 8 in Illinois.

Central DuPage Hospital joins three other Northwestern Medicine hospitals on the Best Hospitals in Illinois and Chicago list. Northwestern Memorial Hospital retained its position as the No. 1 hospital in Illinois and Chicago. Northwestern Memorial is also once again recognized among the top hospitals in the country ranking No. 10 on the prestigious Best Hospitals Honor Roll. Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital ranked No. 9 in Chicago Metro and No. 9 in Illinois. Northwestern Medicine McHenry, Huntley, Woodstock Hospitals ranked No. 19 in Chicago Metro and No. 23 in Illinois.

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is also rated as High Performing in Orthopaedics, as well as in 10 procedures and conditions: colon cancer surgery, lung cancer surgery, heart failure, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hip replacement and knee replacement.

The data used in the 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings come from a period predating the COVID-19 pandemic and were not affected by the pandemic's impact on hospitals. The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.
