Perrin-Wheaton DAR sews hundreds of masks

Members of the Perrin-Wheaton Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have made more than 1,200 face masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The chapter has given masks to several assisted living facilities, first responders, veterans groups, food pantries, and school bus drivers delivering food to students who receive subsidized meals at school and more.

The Perrin-Wheaton Chapter, headquartered in Wheaton, is one of hundreds of DAR chapters.

DAR members across the nation have sewn hundreds of thousands of masks.

Any woman 18 or older may join the DAR by documenting her lineage to an ancestor who helped the cause of American independence through military, civil, or patriotic service.
