To meet new and current patients' needs during the pandemic and after, Vitality Women's Physical Therapy & Wellness is offering virtual telehealth appointments to new and existing patients.

As cases of Covid-19 continue to grow, many people are unable to attend medical appointments such as physical therapy as they comply with the stay-at-home order. In addition, the shutdown of local gyms and fitness centers limits options for exercise to prevent physical decline and subsequent health issues.

People experiencing the onset of new musculoskeletal pain can turn to telehealth rather than flood doctors' offices and emergency rooms. Instead, clinics such as Vitality Women's Physical Therapy & Wellness are equipped to effectively treat these people through direct access to care (no prescription needed) via telehealth.

Virtual physical therapy, which is covered by most insurance plans thanks to an executive order by Governor Pritzker, allows those who do not wish to leave their homes an opportunity to work with a professional. Via digital media through telehealth, a physical therapist can progress a current treatment plan, triage new pain or symptoms, or assist in developing an exercise program to prevent decline.

This care not only ensures patients are receiving necessary medical care, it also assists in reducing the overall health burden on doctors' offices and hospitals.

Established in 2014, Vitality Women's Physical Therapy & Wellness specializes in women's and pelvic health but also treats women, men, and children for all orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions requiring physical therapy services. Additional information can be found on Vitality's website: vitalitywomenspt.com or by calling (331) 215-4164. Vitality has two locations: 533 S. Division St., Unit B, Elmhurst, or 3047 N. Lincoln Ave., 4th floor, Chicago.
