Glenbard Parent Series in Spanish to present college prep guidance

On Thursday, Oct. 17, B-PAC: Glenbard Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee and the Glenbard Parent Series in Spanish will present "Preparing the Path for High School and College Success: The College Application Process" at 6 p.m. at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.

This program will be presented in Spanish only.

Parents and guardians can play a key role in improving their children's opportunities by recognizing all of the necessary steps for college readiness. It's important to start preparing at a young age, but it's never too late.

On Oct. 17, Norma Vega-Rodriguez, an experienced school counselor, will outline the college admission process from start to finish.

She will highlight the importance of the high school transcript, the role of testing, tips on receiving financial aid, how to find scholarships and more.

Vega-Rodriguez will deliver an easy-to-understand guide, emphasizing the important standards and deadlines students will encounter as they prepare for college and beyond.

Students and parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend together. A light dinner will be served.
