Keep your eyes on the meteor sky with Schaumburg Park District

Twinkle, twinkle little stars, find out why they shine so bright at Spring Valley's Star-Gazing Party!

The party is set to take place 8:30-11 p.m., Aug. 10 at the Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Weather permitting, attendees will get a close-up view of the Perseid meteor shower and constellations through a telescope, which will be available to attendees for $2 per person.

"The sky is the limit when it comes to understanding the universe," said Mary Rice, education coordinator. "This event takes place during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, and we're excited to share this experience with local friends and families."

The event will take place inside and outside the Nature Center. Inside, attendees can enjoy star-related activities and outside, a campfire will be lit for marshmallow roasting.

Registration is not required. For more information, call 847-985-2100 or visit parkfun.com.
