Studios630 to host artists' reception June 9 at Summer Art Show

Submitted by Studios630

On Sunday, June 9, the Studios630 local artist group is holding an artists reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard to celebrate the opening of its Summer Group Show and a solo exhibit "Abstracts and Influences" by artist Jeff Anderson. He approaches the canvas as a jazz musician does an improvisational piece - creating on the fly. This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Artists will be on hand to talk about their works. Fine art originals and prints will be available for purchase.

"I am amazed by the talent of the participating artists," said Carol Marcus, who is a member of the group and its secretary.

These local artists present a variety of styles and they work in media which include oils, collage, acrylic, mixed media, colored pencil and more. Sharon Tinker, Studios630 president, encourages local artists who might be interested in becoming a member to visit the Studios630.org website for information.

The NUHS Art Gallery, which is managed by Studios630, can be found inside Clinic Building B of National University of Health Sciences, 200 E. Roosevelt Road in Lombard.

The exhibit is free and can be viewed by the public during normal clinic operating hours - 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
