Paramedic to show CPR and other lifesaving measures at Fox Valley Area Anglers meeting

The Fox Valley Area Anglers, a multispecies fishing club, will host 10 tournaments and nine additional fishing outings from April through October. The meetings are held at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Tap House Grill, 3341 W. Main, St. Charles. Meeting speakers cover a variety of topics.

The March 26 meeting will feature Scott Rubo, a firefighter/paramedic from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District. He will be demonstrating CPR and automated external defibrillator use for lifesaving measures. He is a licensed paramedic, Fire Officer 1, with many certifications including CPR instructor. He has been teaching CPR for about 20 years and has seen many changes to the process, all with the goal of saving lives. He will be presenting current information and teachings on CPR and how to properly use an AED. This includes hazards you have to be aware of before using an AED and what you can do to assist in these situations.
