ECC Arts Center presents 'Million Dollar Quartet' April 13-14

The Elgin Community College Arts Center presents the national touring production of the Tony Award-winning smash-hit Broadway musical, "Million Dollar Quartet," on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14. The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the ECC Arts Center located in Building H on the Spartan Drive campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Experience this remarkable musical inspired by the true story of the legendary recording session that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins; featuring timeless and enduring hits such as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "That's All Right," "Great Balls of Fire," "Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Matchbox," "Folsom Prison Blues," and more.

On Dec. 4, 1956, Sam Phillips, the undisputed "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" who was responsible for launching the careers of each of these icons, gathered the four legendary singer/songwriters in Memphis for the first and only time. This performance relives the true story of "the most famous jam session of all time," as described by cast member, Taylor Gray, who portrays Jerry Lee Lewis.

"Million Dollar Quartet" brings that unbelievable musical moment to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal, humor, celebration and unforgettable performances.

"Our patrons have a unique opportunity to experience the 'Million Dollar Quartet' performance in a smaller, more intimate venue," explained Steve Duchrow, director of the ECC Arts Center. "The audience will have an up-close and personal experience from every seat in the house."
