McHenry Diaper Drive draws large response

Nearly 65,000 free diapers were distributed Tuesday, May 19, to community members in need at a drive-through event held at Follett School Solutions' offices, 1340 Ridgeview Drive in McHenry.

The event was sponsored by United Way of Greater McHenry County, Follett, and The Diaper Bank of Northern Illinois.

Mask-wearing volunteers from the three organizations, plus the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, were on hand to distribute packages of diapers, ranging in size from newborn to adult.

The Diaper Bank of Northern Illinois is on target to distribute a total of 420,000 diapers to those in need for 2020.\
