Get tips on handling stress at Sept. 28 program at St. Thomas the Apostle

Ladies, are you stressed? Whether you're mildly anxious or really stressed - it makes no difference - just mark your calendar and plan to attend "Right Here … Right Now … De-Stress" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the Lighthouse room at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

During this program, Linda Heying, PsyD, LMFT, will discuss mindfulness, an evidence-based process that can help manage stress. She will explain how the stressed brain works and how to employ simple mindfulness practices that help relieve stress. Perhaps the best part of all is these practices can be done anywhere and at most times.

Heying holds a doctorate in psychology that is oriented toward clinical practice and is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 30 years of experience. She also is a spiritual director in the contemplative model and wisdom lineage. Her four children call her the best person she is called to be.

"Right Here … Right Now … De-Stress" is being sponsored by Sophia's Circle of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, a ministry that offers three micro retreats yearly for women to explore topics related to spiritual re-connections of faith. Each program begins with wine and light refreshments.

Reservations for this program, at $10 each payable by check or in cash at the door, are encouraged by Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Do some of your friends a favor and bring them along, or make new friends and spend a relaxing evening in each other's company.
