Grayslake Arts Alliance plans Holiday Fine Art Show

The Grayslake Arts Alliance, a new community group dedicated to promoting the arts in Grayslake, will stage its first public event, a Holiday Fine Art Show, in conjunction with the Village Tree Lighting Ceremony from 5-8 p.m. Friday Nov. 25.

Featuring painting, photography and sculpture, the show will be held in the second floor village board chambers. Music will be provided by jazz pianist and instructor Bill Chapan and some of his students.

The Arts Alliance is an inclusive organization that aims to bring the arts to Grayslake and to promote local artists by building bridges between existing community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, village officials, schools and civic organizations.

The long range goal of the group is to develop an arts center in or near downtown Grayslake.

The Grayslake village hall is at 10 Seymour Ave., Grayslake.
