The Terraces at The Clare Receives Certificate of Need for Expansion To Fill Growing Needs

Helene Kramer is healthier than she’s been for years. Her weight has stabilized, her heart is stronger and her mobility has improved. Helene, who chooses not to disclose her age, has flourished in the care she’s received at The Terraces at The Clare. Helene lived independently until recently, when she fell and suffered a broken leg requiring surgery. Needing additional care, Helene was not able to return home safely after her hospital stay. “She needed rehabilitation after she was released from the hospital and fortunately they had one space available for her at The Terraces of The Clare,” said her nephew Dwight Shelton.

As a LifeCare community, The Clare offers a complete continuum of care as needs arise. The Terraces at The Clare, which has been awarded the prestigious 5-star rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, offers assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, respite care and rehabilitation.

Fortunately for others like Helene, The Terraces has received approval from the State of Illinois for a Certificate of Need, enabling The Clare to expand its skilled nursing community by adding 16 new beds. “We work very closely with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and they’ve encouraged us to grow. We have strong expertise in rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and speech therapies, wound care and IV care. Adding additional beds will enable us to further expand the range of our services to include more individuals with different needs,” said Shelly Smith, administrator for The Terraces.

The Clare at Rush and Pearson is a LifeCare retirement community in the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, with incomparable lifestyle, amenities and the financial stability only a debt-free senior living community can offer. The Clare is owned by Chicago Senior Care and managed by Life Care Services. For more information, visit www.theclare.com or call 312-784-8100.
