Support fundraiser for Lake in the Hills dad battling ALS

The family of Lake in the Hills resident Scott Usher is raising donations to help this father of three children who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) in August 2017.

The family's home needs modifications to allow Scott to use the shower, bathroom and kitchen and navigate freely in his wheelchair.

They also need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to be able to leave the house. This disease is emotionally and financially crippling, and there is no cure. The average patient's life expectancy is 2-5 years.

Julie and Scott have been married for 16 years with three children, ages 9, 11 and 19.
