Local artists gather for annual studio sale in Woodstock
More than 20 artists will hold its annual Artists' Studio Sale on Thursday, Feb. 12 to Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Old Court House Arts Center on the Square in Woodstock. This once-a-year, four-day sale gives buyers an opportunity to own original works of art by professional artists at bargain prices.
The sale began 10 years ago when a group of artists decided to sell artwork from previous exhibitions at greatly reduced prices. Both collectors and first-time art buyers can choose from a diversified selection of artwork including etchings, works on paper and paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic and mixed media. The sale also includes pottery, glass, sculpture, jewelry, and other fine art crafts. Sale-goers will also find used art books and artist supplies.
Artists who will participate are Lynn Krause, Allen Stebbins, Theron and Holly Mattick, Lena Wells, Mary Beth Hilger-Rajsky, and Donna Jill Witty, all of Woodstock; Mary Obodzinski, Crystal Lake; Mary Jean Deja, McHenry; Linda Hall and Rainy Kellogg, both of Barrington; Pat Rotello, Cary; Barbara Brown and Susan Neri-Waldron, both of Elgin; Kathleen and James Eaton, both of Sleepy Hollow; Nancy Krahn, Algonquin; Barbara Pihos, Hampshire; Pat Rued and Lou Zale, both of Deerfield; Tammy Harris, Rockford, Janet Peters, Galva; and Wisconsin artists Larry Welo, Mt. Horeb, and Wynne Hasselgren, Delavan.
