Preview: Naperville Central at Wheaton North

DuPage Valley Conference Naperville Central (3-0, 1-0) Wheaton North (2-1, 0-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.

Last year: Naperville Central 28, Wheaton North 14.

Last week: Naperville Central 41, West Aurora 2; Glenbard North 35, Wheaton North 14.

Outlook: While most quarterbacks struggled in the rain and mud last week, Naperville Central's Nick Linne was throwing 3 touchdown passes to Riley O'Toole.

Regardless of the conditions, the Redhawks are dedicated to the passing game. It's not exclusive, though, especially with running back Nick Kukuc back from a shoulder injury.

Defensively, the Redhawks will try to re-create the havoc Glenbard North's line caused against Wheaton North as they compete for their first 4-0 start since 2004.

Mike Kraft, Jordan Poll, Clint Woods, Alex Schaefer and Bryan Derence are the linemen aiming to slow down the Falcons, who need to bounce back from last week's loss.

As Northwestern-bound running back Mike Trumpy vies for his third 200-yard effort this season, quarterback Taylor Graham hopes to get the passing game on track after a rough outing. Being back home on the FieldTurf should help.
