St. Edward 54, Marian Central 40: The Green Wave (6-1) carried a 25-19 lead into halftime and never looked back as they defeated Marian Central in this Suburban Christian Conference crossover game. Maddie Kerr led all scorers with 19 points while Callie Johnson also tallied double-digits with 12 points to lead the Green Wave offensively. Catherine Von Ahnen (6 points) pulled down 9 rebounds and Enza Ranallo (5 points) added 6 assists.
DeKalb 51, Burlington Central 44: The Rockets (5-4) fell behind 22-8 after one quarter of play and could not mount a large enough comeback as they were defeated by the Barbs in nonconference action. “We came out flat and we couldn't get it back,” stated Burlington Central coach Stephanie Smith. Brenda Thasavong (13 points) and Jessica Laird (10 points) paced the Rockets with double-figures while Alli Settanni chipped in 9 points.
Bartlett 48, Palatine 44: The Hawks (9-0) remained undefeated as they pulled out a close nonconference victory against Palatine on the road. Kristen Conniff led Bartlett with an all-around stellar game which included a game-high 16 points to go with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Jacki Gulczynski also recorded double-digits with 13 points as well as adding 5 rebounds while Nicole Beck and Christina Carlson chipped in 7 and 6 points, respectively.
Westminster Christian 39, Cornerstone Christian 31: The Warriors (3-1) picked up another victory as they defeated Cornerstone at home in this nonconference matchup. McKaila Hays came off the bench to lead the Warriors offensively with 9 points while Ellie Fink added 8 points.
Johnsburg 59, Crystal Lake South 42: The Gators (0-9) are still looking for their first win of the season as they were downed in a Fox Valley Conference crossover game with Johnsburg at home. Stephanie Melone and Brittany Pittas led the Gators offensively with 14 and 11 points, respectively. Megan Hoffman chipped in 8 points.
Hampshire 69, Stillman Valley 56: Alex Dumoulin recorded a monster game as she led the Whip-Purs (8-0) with 25 points as they defeated Stillman Valley in nonconference action at home to remain undefeated. Karla Vietinghoff and Jessie Van Dorin also poured in double-digits for Hampshire as they recorded 19 and 12 points, respectively.
