Lomas, Conant roll past Proviso W.

Conant started its season on a winning note as senior Kelly Lomas scored a game-high 15 points in a 36-21 nonconference victory at Proviso West on Wednesday.

Alyssa Rawleigh added 8 points and Lindsay Fillingim 6 for the Cougars, who begin play in the Waubonsie Valley-West Aurora tourney on Saturday.

Fillingim, Lomas and Rawleigh each had two 3-pointers while Allie Bauch connected for one.

McHenry 49, Palatine 48: The Pirates (1-1) were led by Katie Scovic (13 points), Nia Pappas (12) and Lauren Radtke (11) in their opening game of the Dundee-Crown tourney in Carpentersville.

Rolling Meadows 47, Grayslake North 30: Sophomore center Morgan Keller (12 points), junior guard Ann Marie Lynch (12 points) and freshman guard Jacqueline Kemph (11) led the Mustangs (2-0) to their second straight win in the Mundelein tourney.
