St. Francis falls in championship match

Crossroads Classic: Moline defeated St. Francis 25-22, 25-22 in the championship match of the 24-team Kesslers Crossroads Classic in Effingham.

No. 3 St. Francis (11-1), which went 4-1 at the tournament, beat Indianapolis Chatard 25-20, 25-17 in the quartefinals and St. Louis Nerinx Hall 25-20, 25-11 in the semifinals.

Meg Vonderhaar and Daiva Wise, both named to the all-tournament team for St. Francis, had three-match totals of 23 and 17 kills, respectively, on Saturday. Kelly Reinke had 66 assists and 6 blocks, Grace Churney 15 kills and Gina Madonia 29 digs.

Bartlett Tournament: No. 11 West Chicago beat host Bartlett 25-13, 22-25, 15-7 in the championship match. Julia Conard had 10 kills and 7 digs, Emily Paschke 8 kills and 4 blocks and Kathy Fletcher 5 kills and 3 aces for the Wildcats (13-0).
