Daniels, Vernon Hills roll; Fleming, Stevenson cruise
DaVaris Daniels scored 18 points, as Vernon Hills' boys basketball team routed Guerin Prep 51-29 at Northridge Prep on Wednesday night.
Chris Argianas added 11 and Brian Berzanski had nine for Vernon Hills.
Stevenson 54, Christian Liberty 20: At Buffalo Grove, Mike Fleming scored 13 points to lead the Patriots.
Troy Radtke added 10 for Stevenson (2-1).
Rockford Jefferson 67, Wauconda 58: At Richmond-Burton, the J-Hawks prevailed after the game was tied 41-41 after three quarters.
Wauconda (0-2) got a game-high 16 points from senior Tyler Gick. Matt Mead had 10 in the loss, while Kyle Ryan and Ryan Gick each added nine.
Grayslake North 59, Richmond-Burton 43: At Richmond-Burton, the Knights improved to 2-0.
Cary-Grove 39, Round Lake 35: At Woodstock, the Panthers' loss dropped them to 1-1.
Juddon Carter led Round Lake with 12 points on four 3-pointers.
St. Viator 45, Highland Park 33: Junior Kevin Walsh scored 22 points and hit six 3-pointers as St. Viator improved to 2-0 in its annual Thanksgiving tournament. D.J. Morris added 9 points on three 3s as the Lions led 30-17 at halftime.
If St. Viator beats Walther Lutheran on Friday it will play for the title at 5 p.m. Saturday against Conant (3-0), which beat Walther 69-56 on Wednesday.
Buffalo Grove 87, Holy Trinity 45: Nick Prus scored 15 points and hit three 3s to lead a balanced attack for BG (1-1) in its annual Bison Classic.
Luke Potnick, Richie Zirngibl and Ryan Inlow scored 12 points apiece and Tommy Ricciardi added 9 points.
Oak Park 80, Prospect 73: Prospect had a nice inside-outside offensive game going but it couldn't slow Oak Park-River Forest in the opener of the St. Patrick tournament.
Mike LaTulip scored 17 points and hit three 3s for the Knights.
