Savory Beer Sauce for Bratwurst

2 cans (14.5 ounce each) stewed tomatoes

2 bottles or cans (12 ounces each) beer

1 large onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 tablespoon brown sugar

In a large sauce pot, mix ingredients and bring to a simmer. Do not let sauce boil.

Hold grilled brats (about 10) in sauce until ready to eat.

Try dressing your brat with this sauce instead of ketchup. Add a bit of brown mustard, if you wish.

Serves 10.
