Library celebrates teens with #WeWereHere Project

Teens ages 12-19 years who participated in the #WeWereHere Project are welcome to join the Virtual Exhibit at the Schaumburg Library from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, on Zoom.

Participants can showcase their community projects with a brief demo or statement and earn volunteer or service hour credit. Register at SchaumburgLibrary.org to receive the Zoom link.

Submissions to the #WeWereHere Project are still open at TheWeWereHereProject.org, where more information is also available. This library-created project provides an opportunity for teen voices to be heard on issues including health, quarantine, missing friends and milestone celebrations, protest and social justice, and a society examining its attitudes about racism, wealth and privilege.

It's also a way to demonstrate how teens have connected to and helped others in their communities and beyond.

The Schaumburg Township District Library and its branches in Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park are now open to the public, with limited hours and capacity.

For details, visit SchaumburgLibrary.org or call (847) 985-4000.
