Soulis breaks new ground with 4 goals for Grayslake North

Grayslake North's girls soccer program had never had a player record a hat trick in its young history.

Alyssa Soulis not only provided that Wednesday, but the senior added a bonus tally.

She scored every goal in the Knights' 4-0 shutout of Antioch.

"Soulis was the only one that seemed to have the aim today," coach Adam DeCaluwe said.

Soulis started the scoring in the game's eighth minute, finishing a pass from sophomore Katie McGrath.

About 10 minutes later, Soulis struck again, as sophomore Andrea Lamb assisted.

Up 2-0 at halftime, Grayslake North got its hat-trick goal from Soulis when she converted a pass from sophomore Hannah Mitchem.

Soulis concluded her scoring binge when she knocked in a corner kick by sophomore Allie Ceglarek.

Keeper Brooke Sauer made 3 saves in earning the shutout.
