Addison Trail 7, Downers North 1:Winning pitcher Mike Imperiale (1-0) allowed a hit and no earned runs and went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Blazers (3-3) in their West Suburban Conference crossover victory. Scott Babica went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and 2 steals. Providence 9, Naperville Central 7:The Redhawks (4-4) rallied to within 8-7 after scoring 2 runs in the top of the sixth inning, but came no closer in the nonconference loss to the highly touted Celtics. Conor Philbin and Jimmy Nashert each drove in 2 runs for Naperville Central.York 14, Proviso East 4:The Dukes improved to 8-0 by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the West Suburban Conference crossover. Jake Rzeszutko went 3-for-4 while Matt Williams, Joe Boozell and Joey Grollo had 2 hits apiece. Mitch Baker (1-0) pitched 4 innings for the win.
