Scouting the weekend in the Fox Valley
Today
Bartlett (14-10, 6-3) at South Elgin (16-9, 5-4), 7:30 p.m.: If Bartlett wins this regular-season finale for both teams, the Hawks would finish alone in third place in the Upstate Eight. A South Elgin victory would forge a three-way tie for third place with Bartlett and St. Charles North. South Elgin is the No. 1 seed at next week's Class 4A Bartlett regional; Bartlett is the No. 2 seed.
Huntley (14-11, 3-6) at Jacobs (7-18, 3-6), 7 p.m.: These teams aren't likely to showcase all their tricks since they will face each other again Monday in the play-in game of the Class 4A Crystal Lake South regional. The resurgent Golden Eagles have won four straight. Their last loss was at Huntley, 59-50, on Feb. 9.
Neuqua Valley (25-2, 9-0) at Larkin (1-24, 1-8), 7:30 p.m.: The Royals get a taste of how the other half lives. UEC champion Neuqua Valley seeks to punctuate an undefeated league title. The Wildcats are No. 4 in this week's Class 4A Associated Press poll.
Streamwood (7-17, 3-6) at Elgin (6-19, 1-8), 7:30 p.m.: The Maroons look to gain needed momentum heading into Monday's regional play-in game against St. Charles East at the Class 4A Bartlett regional. The Sabres likewise need a boost. Streamwood has dropped four straight.
Richmond-Burton (17-8, 8-1) at Burlington Central (12-13, 5-3), 7:15 p.m.: The Rockets can't catch Big Northern Conference-East champion R-B in the standings, but a win on Senior Night would mean a .500 finish to the regular season.
Grayslake North (12-12) at Dundee-Crown (4-19), 7:15 p.m.: This Fox Valley Conference crossover against the Knights provides an opportunity for the Chargers to snap a 3-game skid prior to Monday's play-in game against Larkin at the Class 4A Barrington regional.
Crystal Lake South (13-11) at Crystal Lake Central (9-16), 7 p.m.: Gators. Tigers. Cross-town rivalry. 'Nuff said.
