Cary-Grove 9, Crystal Lake South 3: The Trojans (13-1, 4-0) started off slow but scored 7 runs in the sixth inning to secure the victory over over the Gators in this Fox Valley Conference game. Taylor Dunne paced the Trojans with a 3-for-3 effort from the plate with 2 doubles while Sarah Leudo (2-for-3) and Lindsay Efflandt (2-for-4) each recorded a double. Sara Markelonis delivered the biggest hit of the game as she launched a grand slam in the sixth inning. Efflandt (11-1) earned the victory on the mound as she scattered 8 hits and walked 2 while striking out 9 in 7 innings of work. Hannah Mahoney suffered the loss for the Gators as she threw 7 innings, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks while striking out five.
Hampshire drops doubleheader: The Whip-Purs were unable to pick up a victory as they fell to Sycamore 7-4 in Game 1 and 16-2 in Game 2. Kendall Walker went 3-for-4 in the first game with 2 doubles. Elisa Wood (1-5) suffered the loss as she gave up 6 hits, 3 walks, and 2 earned runs. In Game 2, Grace Jakubowski led the Whips with a double.
