Scouting report: Perkins is a familiar face for the Warriors. A four-year starter at Willowbrook who graduated in 2004, he’s the program’s all-time leading scorer. Perkins, after three years as an assistant varsity coach, takes over a team yearning for success. “Things are on the upswing,” he said. “A lot of guys have experience, so we’re hoping we can build upon that.” Much of the experience comes from last year’s group that had six sophomores. Joiner’s a perimeter player while Greene, last year’s leading scorer, can knock down 3’s or finish strong at the basket. Six-foot-seven Rader, a third-year varsity player, is another scorer. Perkins believes the Warriors will be fine on offense, but to get more wins they must improve greatly on defense.
