Huntley 8, Woodstock North 0: The Red Raiders (2-4) got on the board early and never looked back as they defeated Woodstock North in this nonconference game. Taylor Larson paced the Red Raider offense going 2-for-2 with a home run and 4 RBI while Randi Peterson turned in a 2-for-4 effort with a double and 3 RBI. Larson (2-2) also earned the victory in the circle throwing a complete-game shutout, allowing 3 hits while striking out five.

Westminster Christian 19, Christian Liberty Academy 9: The Warriors (2-2) found themselves down 7-1 heading into the bottom of the second inning, but were able to fight back and earn the victory at home. Katie Moeller led the way at the plate with a 4-for-6 performance with 2 doubles and 4 RBI. Porsche Griggs went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI while Stephanie Kleczynski went a perfect 2-for-2. Rachel Fugiel (1-0) earned the victory in 6 innings as she gave up 8 hits and 7 walks while striking out two.

Naperville North 15, Streamwood 0: The Sabres (1-5) could not find the scoreboard as they were no-hit and defeated on the road against Naperville North in 3 innings. Jenna Szabo (0-1) took the loss as she threw 1 innings while surrendering 10 hits.

Crystal Lake South 9, Hampshire 0: Hannah Mahoney pitched a gem for the Gators (7-1) as she allowed just 1 hit and 3 walks while striking out 10 Whip-Purs (1-6) for the complete-game victory. Liz Adams brought the big bat as she recorded 2 triples while Sam Golf and Shannon McGinnis tallied 2 RBI apiece. Jen Hurst (0-5) suffered the loss for Hampshire as she threw 7 innings while giving up 12 hits, 2 walks, and striking out six.

College softball

Judson splits with St. Xavier: The Eagles (18-10, 7-3) came out flat in Game 1 as they were easily beaten 11-0 by St. Xavier. Sam Gladen suffered the loss throwing 3 innings with just 1 strikeout. Concetta Lampugnano recorded 2 of the Eagles’ 3 hits. Game 2 was a different story as Judson rallied back to score 9 runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings to earn a 9-7 victory and a split of the CCAC twinbill. Lampugnano (HR), Nicole Dimiceli (HR, 2 RBI), Emily England (RBI), and Carrie Sensor (2 RBI) each recorded 2 hits. Sarah Boyer earned a complete-game victory as she did not allow a walk.

ECC swept by Waubonsee: The Spartans were unable to pull out a victory as they were defeated twice at home. In Game 1, the Spartans fell 5-4 in eight innings as Jennifer Jordan suffered the loss. Ashley Scheffler went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored while Courtney Boesteder went 2-for-4. In Game 2, the Spartans were blanked 6-0 as they were unable to push a run across the plate. Diana Besser suffered the loss while Scheffler once again led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance.
