Girls soccer/Fox Valley roundup

St. Edward scored 3 goals in the first half Friday and went on to down Class 1A state qualifier Lisle 3-1 in a nonconference girls soccer game at Lisle.

Alison Kruk found the back of the net off an assist from Corey Lepoudre, Jordyn Madden scored on an assist from Mallory Malone and Monica Ramirez knocked in an unassisted goal to lead the Green Wave to their third win of the season without a loss.

“Very pleased,” said Wave coach Tim Brieger. “Lisle was fourth in the state last year and even though they graduated a few seniors, it was nice to go on a little road trip and play well.”

Paige Gannon had 8 saves in goal for St. Edward, which hosts Hampshire at 6 p.m. Monday at Greg True Field.

Jacobs 4, St. Viator 2: Lauren Grady scored twice and Shannon Grady and Cassidy Sherman each had single goals to lead the Golden Eagles to a nonconference win. Shannon Grady added 2 assists, Lauren Grady had one and Lizzie Travis added one for Jacobs. Meghan Minogue made 9 saves in goal for the Eagles.

Streamwood 2, Willowbrook 0: Amy Tyszkiewicz scored twice in the first half and Brianna Ropp made 17 saves as Streamwood (1-1) won this nonconference contest.
