Addison to host WinterFEST Feb. 20
The public is invited to the inaugural WinterFEST from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20 at Community Park, 120 E. Oak St. in Addison.
Attendees can participate in both indoor and outdoor activities, try a complimentary chili tasting provided by Culver's in Addison and stay for a special performance at 2 or 3 p.m. by the Westernettes Baton Corps.
Outdoor activities include ice skating, sledding, snow golf, tug-of-war, a snowman making contest, and a s'mores roasting station between noon and 4 p.m.
Bring your own ice skates to experience the new outdoor ice rink at Community Park. Teams of four are invited to sign up for a snow volleyball tournament between 1 and 3 p.m.
Winter “fashionistas” can enter a crazy hat contest at 3 p.m.
If Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow on Feb. 2 and winter ends early, outdoor activities may be slightly modified.
Enjoy warm hospitality with friends and family indoors while decorating cookies, participating in the children's craft area or savoring samples of complimentary Culver's chili. Additional concessions are available for purchase.
Ronald McDonald will perform a magic show at 1 p.m. for children of all ages. Additional entertainment includes a Westernettes Baton Corps performance at 2 or again at 3 p.m.
