Read the Bible in 90 Days: Have you always wanted to read the entire Bible, but just didn't have the time? Join Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Road, Palatine, in their quest to read the Bible in 90 days. By reading just 12 pages a day you too can read the Bible in 90 days. Participate with CLC or do it on your own. You may use you current Bible and just follow the 12 pages a day rule. Much of the congregation at CLC and many of the small groups are participating. The weekly sermons are even corresponding with the section of the Bible that the congregation is on. Dream: The 15 churches of the Barrington Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) have collaborated to present the first all-community celebration, "His Dream, Our Dream, One Dream," A Celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Dream for our Children's Future. The BAMA event is sponsored by Code Red, a Barrington High School leadership group. The keynote speaker, Robert H. Jordan, Jr., weekend anchorman and reporter for WGN News, will inspire the next generation to hear the call and take on the DREAM, and will encourage his generation to help them on their journey. Inspiring performances by the Bataille Danse Acadamie and the full Barrington Children's Choir will be interwoven with readings, dramatic presentations and joyful participation by students from District 220. Open house: St. Colette School will be hosting an Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at the school, 3900 Pheasant Drive, Rolling Meadows To kickoff Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools Week: On Sunday, Jan. 31, Queen of the Rosary School in Elk Grove Village will kick off Catholic Schools Week, the national celebration of Catholic education, with an open house for prospective students, their families and the community. Scouting Sunday Celebration: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (ELCA) will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the church, 930 W. Genetics: The Education arm of the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Judea is proud to be presenting Michelle Gilats, a genetic counselor from the Chicago Center for Jewish Genetic Disorders and Children's Memorial Hospital, who will be discussing "Shaping Your Family Tree: Genetics and the Next Generation."
