Belvidere North 3, Burlington Central 1: The Rockets (0-1-1) battled in the first half, but came up short as they fell to Belvidere North at the DeKalb Tournament. Paolo Sespene recorded the Rockets’ lone goal in the 22nd minute off a feed from Jacob Schutta. Brett Rau turned away 9 shots on goal.

Cary-Grove 2, Rockford Boylan 1: Kevin Wilde found the back of the net twice as he led the Trojans (1-0) to a nonconference victory at home. Brian O’Connor added an assist while Kevin Schenk recorded 6 saves in goal for the Trojans.

South Elgin 4, Marian Central 0: The Storm used a balanced offensive attack as they won at the Warrior Invite. Phil Saccameno and Adam Smith recorded first half goals off assists from Alberto Bustamante and Daniel Hopkins, respectively. Christian Perez added a goal and an assist in the second half while Quinn Uveges also found the back of the net off and Tyler Pizczek added an assist. Michael Cortez preserved the shutout with 5 saves in goal.

Maine West 5, Streamwood 0: The Sabres (0-2) finesse could not keep up with Maine West’s quickness as they were shut out at the Warrior Invite. Phil Lewy recorded 6 saves in goal for the Sabres.
