Haws, Kaluzny lead Libertyville hit parade

Margaret Haws and Calley Kaluzny each had 4 hits, as Libertyville’s softball team shut out host Highland Park 28-0 in a nonconference game that last five innings Friday.

Haws (4-for-4, walk) homered, tripled and drove in four runs, and Nicole Kruckman had a home run, double and 3 RBI. Lauren Vogg (3-for-5) was a home run shy of the cycle. Taylor Oberman and Maggie Meyer contributed a pair of hits each for the Wildcats. Kaluzny (4-for-5) and Haley Hoeksel also had doubles.

Libertyville starting pitcher Emilie Teitz allowed 2 hits and struck out five.

Grant 5, Crystal Lake Central 3: Kayla Uhwat had the game-winning hit during a 4-run sixth for the visiting Bulldogs in the nonconference game.

Rachel DePouw earned the win for Grant (17-8).
