Wauconda bounces back

Wauconda's girls basketball team rebounded from its loss to Libertyville in the North Suburban Conference championship game.

The Bulldogs defeated host Richmond-Burton on Thursday night 66-43 to avenge a 51-43 loss at Marian Central on Nov. 24.

The victory gave Wauconda (20-6) its second straight 20-win season.

Kate Martino led the Bulldogs and narrowly missed a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 assists and 9 steals. Melanie Prudhomme added 11 points, and Erinn Hellweg contributed 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Stevenson 72, Antioch 41: A 23-point performance by Stevenson's Michelle O'Brien helped the Patriots defeat the Sequoits in the North Suburban Conference crossover. Stevenson improved its record to 20-7.

Andi Potkonjak scored 14 points for Antioch (13-13, 8-4). Jessica Ploss grabbed 6 rebounds for the Sequoits, and Lindsey Gofron contributed 6 assists.

Grayslake Central 64, Glenbrook North 32: The Rams traveled to Glenbrook North and earned a victory improving their record to 19-7 in the nonconference game.

Leading the Rams scoring was Rebekah Llorens, who scored 14 points, and Kat Dickson , who added 12 points.
