Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble to hold 'Nutcracker' audition

Become a part of the magic of "The Nutcracker!"

Auditions for the Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble's production will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at Barrington Dance Academy, 758 W. Northwest Hwy. in Barrington.

Male and female dancers age 6 and older from any studio are invited to audition. Dancers must be 6 years old by Sept. 10 to audition.

Performance dates are Dec. 1-3 at Barrington High School. Dancers must be available for rehearsal every Sunday in September, October, and November. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time to fill out paperwork. There is a $20 audition fee, cash or check, payable to Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble.

Auditions will be noon to 12:30 p.m. for age 6 to 8, 12:45 to 1:30 p.m. for age 9 to 11, 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. for age 12 to 13 and 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. for age 14 and older.

A "Nutcracker" audition workshop will be held from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Barrington Dance Academy studio. Dancers, age 6 to 11, and their parents are invited. It is free, but RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 5. Dancers will practice their skills while parents learn more about the production and what it's like to be part of the cast.
