Fourth annual Festival of Sacred Music
An inspiring celebration of sacred music by a variety of Barrington churches is coming to Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, 7 p.m.(doors open 6:30 p.m.) Sunday Jan. 31.
The fourth annual Festival of Sacred Music features original compositions written by two local church choir directors, Rory Cooney and Tim Brubacher, and a variety of sacred music styles from the individual churches as well as massed choir pieces directed by festival founder Dr. James Skomer of Salem United Methodist Church.
Participating churches and directors include: Barrington United Methodist Church, Karen Maxwell director; Lutheran Church of the Atonement, Helen Ailabouni director; Presbyterian Church of Barrington, Kristen Hedegaard director; St. Anne Catholic Community, Rory Cooney director; St. Mark Episcopal, Bruce Hall director; St. Matthew Lutheran, Cathy Gathman director; St. Michael Episcopal, Nanci Tobison director; Salem UMC, David Hartley director; and Village Church of Barrington, Pastor Tim Brubacher director.
