Glenbard South wins in Missouri
Glenbard South 34, Fort Zumwalt South, Mo. 21:
Glenbard South's football team enter the playoffs with a bunch of momentum after Saturday's nonconference road victory in Missouri. The Raiders (6-3) set the tone on their first play from scrimmage when Zach Smith hit Elven Walker with a long touchdown pass on a halfback option play.
Fort Zumwalt South took a brief 7-6 first-quarter lead but Glenbard South led 34-14 by halftime.
"We had a nice lead in the first half and that allowed us to give a couple of guys some rest in the second half," said Raiders coach Jeremy Cordell, whose team is a 10th seed in Class 6A and travels for a first-round game against Foreman (7-2). "Having that sixth win is absolutely huge for us."
