Join us for the 2nd Annual Run for Rwanda 5k & Fitness Walk

On June 22, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. the 2nd Annual Run for Rwanda 5k and 2 Mile Fitness Walk will be held at McCollum Park in Downers Grove. The race is sponsored by a coalition of churches, which includes Four Corners Community Church, Darien, Hobson Road Community Church, Downers Grove, Horizon Community Church, Downers Grove, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn Bible Church, Glen Ellyn, and The Upper Room Church, Downers Grove. The proceeds from the race will benefit Africa New Life Ministries, a 501(c)(3) organization. All of the proceeds will go directly toward building a much needed church and well/water system for the Village of Kageyo, Rwanda. The race last year was a huge success. The proceeds were used to provide running water and sanitation to a new boy's dorm building in Kayonza, Rwanda. The dorm was dedicated in January, 2013. The dorm houses 120 boys who attend New Life Christian Academy. Without the dorm, some of these boys would be homeless and forced to live on the street.
